Aref Husseini is an Electrical Engineer, a Physicist and a Novelist from Jerusalem, Palestine. Husseini worked in many Industrial and Educational Fields as a Developer, Researcher and a Leader during the last 20 years.
Eng. Husseini has founded Al-Nayzak Organization for Supportive Education and Scientific Innovation (www.alnayzak.org) in 2003. By his initiative, AlNayzak has built successful partnerships to serve Palestinian youth. Ultimately, AlNayzak received many national and international awards, including Abdalaziz Shachshir Achievement Award, Palestine International Award for Excellence, Al-Fekr Al-Arabi (Arab Thoughts) Award in Dubai & Takreem Arab World Award in Cairo.In 2008, Eng. Husseini has been chosen by Synrgous Foundation in the United States as one of the top 22 Arab Social Innovators and in 2011, he was elected as an IEEE Palestine Subsection Vice Chairman.
Business-wise, Eng. Husseini is also among the Made in the Arab World – MIA entrepreneurs, and he was in the selection committee in 2009 with 12 participating Arab countries. He is a mentor in Made in Palestine- MIP, supporting Palestinian Startup Ecosystem, mentoring innovative Hi-Tech initiatives and supporting their businesses growth. Eng. Husseini took part in various Intel Arab World Competitions, among which is the Arab IoT & AI Challenge in Dubai. He is an Arab IoT Committee Member.
In 2013, Aref was selected by the presidency to be a member of the establishing committee for the HCIE- Higher Council for Innovation and Excellence, he is serving as board member until today, and heading the central evaluation committee at the council which is responsible to accept and nominate startups for National Innovation Fund investment.
As a volunteer, Eng. Husseini headed the National Team for Official Technology Curricula Development at the Ministry of Education, and has been appointed by the Prime Minister’s Office to be a member of the National Committee for Educational Reform.
In early 2019, he was nominated to serve as a member of the Board of Trustees at Al Najah National University, the biggest university in Palestine, and heading the Strategic Development Committee at the BoT of the University.
In early 2019, Eng. Husseini completed a special program at MIT- Massachusetts Institute of Technology, and has been certified in AI- Artificial Intelligence and its implications in future business strategies. In early 2020, Eng. Husseini been contracted by OEC- Organization for Educational Cooperation as a Senior Consultant at the Preparatory Committee, to develop strategies that aim at the integration of the fourth industrial revolution in education and endogenous industries in 25 Global South Member states.
Besides his scientific talent, Husseini is a well-distinguished writer.
